The Toddler-Size Birthday Extravaganzas

Jack's third birthday party is this weekend, an event that should rank high on my List Of Things To Think About, but which has barely cracked the Top 25. Until tonight, anyway, when I realized I needed to make an airplane birthday cake, buy a present, figure out how to entertain a handful of toddlers and, oh right, pray desperately for sunshine.

What Mom Has

My kids love a book called Baby Knows Best about a baby who has everything a baby could possibly ask for but all she really wants is to play with newspapers, eat food the grownups are eating, and basically have everything she’s not supposed to have. I think they like the book because it’s funny and true

First, let me thank you for all of your sweet words and concern for my daughter. She is not back to one hundred percent health yet, but they felt she was healing enough to avoid putting her through too many tests that may or may not find answers when they see her on the upswing
